So who are we and what do we believe? We could quote the whole Bible and still not sum up this question more appropriately than our Christian Church's founding leaders did when they wrote what we today call the Apostles' Creed. Therefore, I think it is an appropriate place to start and expand from. Please note that what we believe and who we are has been formed over years from God's intimate design and cannot be explained fully in a few paragraphs. I only request that if you read this and have more questions, that you contact us and let us spend more time with you to define our identity.
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, Just as our Lord Jesus exampled here on earth, we believe that ourselves and everything we can conceive was created by and for the glory of our Father in Heaven and meant to draw us near to him. We believe that it is our responsibility to respond to his wooing of our souls to reverence, worship, and befriend him more intimately than our earthly mind can conceive. Just like our Lord Jesus' demonstrated here on earth, we want to see, hear, know and do what our Father in Heaven is doing.
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. We believe that our God is the only one true God whom has three different active and eternal entities (Father, Son, Holy Spirit). Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was God's only son and became flesh and therefore was fully God and fully Man. We believe that as a man, Our Lord exampled having a relationship with the Father, being filled with the Holy Spirit and had the authority of God as he showed through his message and his actions. We believe that he loved every person and does not want any of them to perish. As such, our Lord became the sacrificial lamb to atone for the sins of those whom chose to have relationship with him and adopted them into his Kingdom as the Father's children, kingdom warriors, and the bride of Christ.
We believe in the Holy Ghost; We believe that the Holy Spirit is alive and active in God's Kingdom as much today as he was throughout biblical accounts of his involvement. We believe that just as the biblical leaders, prophets, kings and our Lord Jesus was continually filled with the Holy Spirit, so must we be continually filled with the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Spirit directs us into right relationship with our Father in Heaven. We also believe that he empowers us to overcome our sin, instructs us in the operation of the spiritual gifts and talents, and equips us to do the things the Father wants us to do. We believe in the power of God through the Holy Spirit to heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, cleanse the diseased and raise the dead.
the holy Christian church and the communion of saints; We believe that we are part of a body of believers in our Lord Christ Jesus that is the Christian Church and bride of Christ. We believe that any individual group consisting of two or more people that share in a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is a practicing communion of saints. We believe that we have the responsibility and God given need to commune and worship God with each other, disciple each other, train each other for Kingdom work, and responsibility to perform the Kingdom work together.
the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. We believe that Christ has given us the authority and responsibility to declare his Kingdom throughout the earth as it is declared in Heaven. We believe his Kingdom will rule for eternity. We believe that we have the responsibility and authority as an adopted heir to his throne to forgive sins, heal the sick, cleanse the diseased, deliver the oppressed and raise the dead. Freely we have received, freely we must give! We believe the Kingdom of God is here on earth as it is in Heaven and in our grasp. We believe that the field of lost and hurting is unfortunately plenty and white for harvest. We choose to be the laborers in the field to collect the Lord's harvest. We are Whitefield Ministries!
